The intermodal terminal ČD-DUSS Lovosice, a.s. provides transshipment services for semitrailers, swap bodies, tank containers, and sea containers of all sizes to its customers based on public and non-discriminatory access. As part of its services, the terminal also offers administrative handling of both rail and road transport, including the issuance of the necessary documents for each type of transport.

Customers can rely on comprehensive and secure handling of units and transported goods. For shipments under customs supervision, a temporary customs warehouse and customs area are available, both at the relevant handling area and inside a covered logistics hall with internal rail access. All areas are secured and monitored by a security camera system with recording equipment.

Container Terminal

Combined transport represents one of the ways to shift freight from road to rail. The container terminal provides an active mode of cooperation between rail and road carriers. It ensures transshipment of handling semitrailers, swap bodies, tank containers, and sea containers of all sizes. Naturally, customs clearance, storage of units in a temporary customs warehouse, and use of the customs area are offered. Customers can rely on the management and handling of road pickups and deliveries linked to rail transport, as well as administrative processing for each transport type. The terminal also includes a 2,500 m² internal logistics warehouse for short-term goods storage, consolidation, shipment preparation, and temporary customs storage, including customs debt guarantees. There is also an option for storage of transport units with cooling or heating, or even placement in an area specifically designed for hazardous goods.

Transshipment of intermodal units takes place on a 12,000 m² handling area using five tracks of various lengths. An additional 15,000 m² is available for storage and depot of intermodal units. From two main tracks, entire trains can depart directly with electric locomotives. The terminal capacity is 1000 TEU and 250 handling semitrailers.

Lovosice was not chosen randomly for the terminal’s location. It has connections to the main railway corridor through Děčín and Bad Schandau to Germany, access to the D8 motorway, and potentially to the nearby port in Prosmyky. Its location in an industrial area further supports the combination of rail and road transport with additional logistics services.

One of the first customers of ČD-DUSS Terminal was Hangartner, using the line to Hamburg-Billwerder. This was followed by tank container and trailer services by EWALS and ČSAD Logistics to Duisburg, trailers by LKW Walter to Rostock, and P&O Ferrymasters to Rotterdam. The company has experience with overseas container shipments via ports in Hamburg, Rotterdam, and Bremerhaven, as well as with full train connections from China. The customer portfolio and train routes served by the terminal continue to evolve. Currently, trains from Lovosice connect ČD-DUSS Terminal to terminals in Lehrte, Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Zeebrugge.

Road Pickups and Deliveries

The intermodal terminal ČD-DUSS Lovosice, a.s. provides road pickups and deliveries of transport units for our customers in connection with rail services. All freight vehicles are insured for cargo, and carry additional insurance products such as freight forwarding insurance and liability insurance during handling. Price quotes and vehicle capacity are available on request.

Logistics Services

A covered warehouse of 2,500 m² with internal rail access is available directly on site. This enables direct transshipment of goods between road and rail. Customers can use this logistics space for fast transshipment or long-term storage. For goods and customers from third countries, the option of storing goods in a temporary customs warehouse is especially important.

Goods handling is carried out using equipment capable of unloading containers, railway wagons, and road trailers. The company is well-prepared to respond flexibly to special shipments, organizing unloading, loading, and transshipment of oversized cargo through rented specialized equipment or cooperation with subcontractors.

Customs Services

Customs services are a standard offering at the logistics center. The temporary customs warehouse, located within the container terminal’s handling area and the internal logistics warehouse, meets all legal standards. We offer customers a comprehensive administrative service for customs clearance, including documentation and customs debt guarantees. We also prepare and arrange any necessary physical customs inspections, with intermodal units positioned accordingly for inspection.
